The Fortress of Freedom Corporation and the International Association of Independent Journalists Inc. are pleased to announce that the eight part documentary TV series called “The Fortress Experiment” is now ready to be shopped for broadcast! This is not the first time we as an organization have accessed network TV. Our fist broadcast was on Global TV (one of the top three networks by viewership in Canada) on the evening of September 18 (2005) with the original Fortress TV Show. Our second broadcast was with CTV (again another top three network in Canada by viewership) on July 26 (2009) with another show called “The Life and Times of Donald “Boots” Brasseur". This latest series of documentaries is just a further progression and development of our organization's ability to reach that mass audience.
The series of documentaries chronicles a typical group of people who are given the ability to express themselves to the limit of their ability physically and mentally. The experiment followed them for up to 13 years to see what impact this had on them personally, their families and their communities and ultimately their nations. IAIJ participated in the making of these documentaries in the usual research and editorial processes. This idea looked at in the experiment became IAIJ’s foundation for their “Positive Major Mandate for Humanity” advocacy recently floated by IAIJ President Maurice Ali at a side event at the 55th Session of the Commission for Social Development at the United Nations this past February (2017).
Vetting for potential broadcasters has already begun and formal contact should be made before the end of this summer.
More updates will be given as events dictate.
