Journalist Protest In Pakistan!

Pakistan - Journalists carried out a protest rally against the killing of Abdul Haq Baloch, a journalist belonged to ARY News, from Qetta Press Club to Chief Minister House. The protestors demanded government to immediately arrest the culprits behind the killing.
The case was filed in Civil Lines Police Station in Quetta, a metropolitan of Pakistan, alleging 25 journalists for interfering and disrupting the affairs of the government.
The police officials also suspended SHO Civil Lines Shaukat Jadoon for not stopping the protest rally.
Secretary of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Amin Yousuf condemned the incident and demanded immediate withdrawal of the case.
He further threatened to call for country-wide protest against the incident if the government failed to withdraw the case.
On the other hand, other Unions of Journalists including National Union of Journalists (NUJ) condemned the incident and demanded government to refrain from any step which could aggravate the journalists.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee also condemned the incident and supported the demand of PFUJ. |
