The Worst Live Reporting In History.
By Maurice Ali, Journalist
Toronto, Ontario - Poverty activist group OCAP held a rally and protest about squatter's rights and abandoned buildings at a church at the corner of Sherbourne and Dundas in the city of Toronto. The only problem was that the event happened one day earlier and I missed the event completely due to my own inadequacies..... Horrified, I raced downtown with my new audio recorder (shown here with the old Sony tape machine):

I hoped to find some stragglers there and possibly get the story behind the story. My arrival at the scene was greeted by a proposition from an aging prostitute (which I will not get into.....); and where - a day earlier - hundreds had gathered.....nothing.....:

The audio interview as also an embarrassment (I sound like an idiot):

This is a disaster for fortressoffreedom.com. I fell asleep at the wheel and missed a big event; not only did they protest, but they got assurances that conditions would improve if a certain politician got elected. I missed it all, I was not the voice of the little man.....I let the little man down..... I guess I am still learning - Please put up with my "learning experiences" as I try to become some - more or less - representative form of a reporter. Time to go sit in the corner. |
