Burnt Earth Marches Against Bush's Opposition To Kyoto.

By Sue E, Staff Reporter

London, England - Lincons Inn Field became the site of a march to protest the refusal of George Bush Jr. to sign the U.N. Kyoto Protocol. This large group amounting to possibly 500 people represented an amalgamation of several organizations ( the Green party being one of many). There was a carnival spirit with music and people dressed up like animals (like tigers, the Statute Of Liberty, etc.). People were carrying banners like: "Boycott ESSO", "Bush Is A Terrorist"; and burnt flowers depicting the burnt earth. There was even a float representing a greenhouse with the earth inside. Ironically, there was considerable police presence in relation to the numbers of protestors involved.

The march ended at the American Embassy and is still ongoing as this is written. In the end, it was good humored, but with a serious purpose. "Unwelcome Bush" was on of the more popular Banners and members of the crowd applauded shouts of "Bog Off Bush" and "Toxic Texan - Take Your Shit With You!". People on the side streets witnessed the march and clapped in approval. President Bush is getting a bad" reception from Londoners.
