Fortress Of Freedom's Studio Lab!

By Maurice Ali, Journalist

While it may not rival many dedicated studio labs; Fortress Of Freedom Inc. now has to capability to record broadcast quality audio for interviews and commercials. Our present use is for our first commercial (the photo above is one taken at an actual session). The best part about our equipment is that it is mobile and can be used in a car or outside remote, very versatile.

This marks another moment of growth for our small organization. This equipment ultimately will be an accessory to our news gathering ability, and it is nice to know that we can now make files suitable for play on "the air". All equipment is profesional quality and selected for our varied purposes.

As a side note; we are also using a proper camera for our news gathering.....Finally! Below is a picture taken from that camera. The files are huge (up to 3K in RAW format) and have to be reduced as in the photo below (which is nevertheless a very small file).

These upgrades are not inexpensive; but are necessary if we are to continue growing in ability. Pictures and audio are now necessary organs to any news gathering entity, even if our biggest tool is The Fortress Newspaper. The audio upgrades should enhance the web site and advertising of the organization, while the photographic upgrades will enhance the web site and newspaper (specifically self-promotion of our organization in the next paper.....instead of the small bracketed ads.....). This type of event would not be an event at larger organizations; but at one as small as ours, it definitely is news!

Having fun with the new equipment!
